Quick Facts about Memorial Hall:

  • For nearly 100 years Memorial Hall has played a diverse role in our community. 
  • Built-in 1925 as a war veteran memorial to honor the men and women who gave their lives for our freedoms. 
  • Welcomed home our soldiers and still, today provides a gathering place for veterans’ activities and meetings. 
  • Citizens and their families attended concerts, plays, sporting events, and community programs.  
  • Holds many memories for the community with its eclectic past.
  • This 95-year-old building has fallen in disrepair. 
  • Recently earned the honorable listing on the National Register of Historic Places. (2021)
  • After a feasibility study showed sound structure and community support of Memorial Hall’s renovation, City Council voted to hold a Bond Election for Joplin voters to be held on April 5, 2022.
