The Joplin Police Department is pleased to announce a graffiti abatement program which ensures quick removal of graffiti to discourage its appearance. In addition, citizens who participate in this program are no longer responsible for removing the graffiti themselves.
The Joplin Police R.A.P.I.D. Team keeps a record of citizens and business owners who have reported that they have been the victims of graffiti. We then contact each victim to obtain permission to remove the graffiti. All that is required of you is to sign the permission waiver form. It's that simple! This service is provided at no cost to victims.
There are two primary goals for this program. The first is to identify and prosecute vandals responsible for the graffiti through data collection and analysis. The second is to relieve property owners who have been victimized of the responsibility associated with removing the graffiti.
