Welcome to the JFD Training Division!

Training Chiefs Scott Cranford and Mark Cannon work together to bring the most up-to-date information and training to a dynamic force of front-line firefighters.  Several area of training are taught within the training division, including the following:

  • Safety; Fire; EMS; Special Ops; Haz-Mat; CEU's
  • Officer; Instructor; Investigator/Inspector

Training is a vital function for today’s Fire Department.  Personnel dedicate their lives, not to the job, but to the profession.  Our staff is nearing a level of 100 full-time firefighters and the need for training is greater than ever before.  In a recent partnership with Fire Departments throughout the area, and by aligning with the Ozark Gateway Fire Chief’s Association, a new alliance was formed for this region: the Tri-State Fire Recruitment Alliance.  

Working towards our mission and in an effort to reach across boarders and standardize tactics, make connections, and communicate more clearly in time of need, this alliance enables us to be a “hub” for training both within and without our region’s borders.  A pool of qualified instructors and seasoned veterans within the Fire Service are now more accessible, better trained and therefore of greater value to the Fire Service and the citizens of our area.  Good training is not hard to find anymore!
