Citizens Academy
Joplin Citizens Academy

In the spring of 2016, the City of Joplin is hosting the second Citizens Academy! In response to feedback from the fall class, the class has been extended to 11-weeks. The Academy is a free program created to educate residents and non-residents about services provided by the City of Joplin. Participants will get the opportunity to interact with local officials, tour major City facilities, and learn how to get involved in serving the community.

The Joplin Citizens Academy is the opportunity to get all of your questions answered! Have you ever wondered what it takes to run a pool and a golf course? Or what City employees really do all day? Or how a municipal budget is put together? Or how the City prioritizes infrastructure projects? If you have ever asked these or similar questions, then the Joplin Citizens Academy is for you!

Applications are closed for the Spring 2016 class. Please check back in August for the Fall 2016 application.
