At this time, testing resources are in limited supply for the State and private labs. Tests may only be provided for individuals who have symptoms and meet other criteria set by the lab. Symptoms include a fever, cough, & shortness of breath. Testing capacity is anticipated to increase soon.
Please note that the Joplin Health Department does not conduct testing for COVID-19. Testing is currently conducted through area medical providers for those who have acquired a physician’s referral. Please call your provider before you go to discuss your symptoms and inquire about potential testing. The following links will take you to the web pages of local medical providers:
A testing clinic is being operated by Freeman Health System and Mercy for patients who meet specific criteria. Anyone seeking a test must call ahead to be screened and, if approved, schedule a time to visit the drive-through testing site. The testing site is not open to the general public. The number for the screening call center is 417-347-6444.
First responders and health care workers may qualify for expedited testing through the State lab if they have had close contact with a case and are exhibiting symptoms. More information about this expedited testing can acquired by calling 877-435-8411 or by visiting the Missouri Department of Health & Senior Services website.
Testing results in Missouri are published on the Missouri Department of Health & Senior Services website.
Results for the United States can be found at the CDC website.
