Overview & Mission Statement
The purpose of the City of Joplin Youth Council is to:
Serve as liaisons to the Joplin City Council
Implement and participate in community initiatives
Prepare youth to be future civic leaders
Develop leadership skills and demonstrate leadership abilities by working with and in city government
Mission Statement:
The 2020-2021 Joplin Youth Council seeks to improve the welfare of the Joplin community in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Council members will volunteer at local food pantries and help spread awareness about mental health resources to our community.

About Jane: Jane aspires to have a career in medicine while continuing her endeavors of championing healthcare equality.

About Kami: Kami plans to graduate in May and go to college to study criminology.

About John: In the future I have many career paths he could take, the most prominent of them being neurosurgery, chemical engineering, law, and cyber security.
